Recombinant Allergens
Biomay has more than two decades of expertise in prokaryotic expression, purification and characterization of recombinant allergens. Biomay offers these allergens off-the-shelf at two quality levels: research-grade and GMP-grade.
Research-grade Allergens (for Scientific Purposes)
- Research-grade allergens (lyophilized)
Biomay offers and distributes non-GMP-grade recombinant allergens for research purposes (not for use in humans). These allergens have been produced and lyophilized under controlled laboratory conditions and with state-of-the-art procedures. Each production lot has been quality-controlled with standardized analytical methods and is accompanied with an individual data sheet.

GMP-grade Allergens (for Clinical Purposes)
In particular cases, Biomay also offers GMP-grade recombinant allergens off the shelf for clinical purposes. Biomay thereby addresses companies and academic institutions which require active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) for commercial or investigator-driven clinical trials. The allergens have been manufactured, QC-tested and QA-released by Biomay. The deep-frozen material is shipped on dry ice and temperature-logged. The shipment is accompanied with the respective regulatory documentation, certificates of analysis and compliance, stability data and technical reports. rBet v 1.0101 (recombinant major allergen of birch, Betula verrucosa)
rMal d 1.0108 (recombinant allergen of apple, Malus domestica)
For custom-designed production arrangements, interested parties are encouraged to commission Biomay with the production of individual GMP-grade allergens (or other proteins or plasmids) via our Contract Manufacturing Service.
