Biomay Management Team

Hans Huber is a seasoned industry manager with over 20 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. Hans joined Biomay in 2008 as Head of Manufacturing. He was assigned to Biomay's Executive Board in 2012 as COO, and in 2019 as CEO. Before joining Biomay, Hans has worked for about ten years at Boehringer Ingelheim RCV as Head of Process Science / Fermentation and as a Technology and Innovation Manager. Hans Huber received his PhD degree in Biotechnology from the University of Life Sciences and Natural Resources, Vienna.

Hauke Hüttmann joined Biomay in 2014. As SVP Operations since 2026, he oversees the bioprocessing chain—from process development and cGMP manufacturing to aseptic filling and quality control. He is also General Manager with statutory authority. Previously Head of Manufacturing Downstream, he is an expert in bioprocessing. Before Biomay, he spent eight years at Boehringer Ingelheim RCV as a downstream scientist. He holds a PhD in Biotechnology from the University of Life Sciences and Natural Resources, Vienna.

With over 20 years in the life sciences industry, May Guo brings deep expertise in mRNA, LNP, CRISPR, and siRNA technologies. She is passionate about innovations in cancer and rare disease therapeutics and is a vocal advocate for scientific knowledge sharing in the mRNA/LNP community. Previously, May served as Chief Commercial Officer at Synth­gene/Are­terna. She also held senior roles including VP at ReciBioPharm and Director Business Development at TriLink. May holds a degree in chemistry from Peking University and an MBA from Georgetown University.

Arnd leads Biomay's European business development, bringing 20+ years of international industry experience. As an expert in DNA and protein services, his focus is on developing strategic partnerships and delivering scalable, reliable solutions for our clients from clinical development through to commercial products. Previously, he held leadership positions at GeneArt, Life Technologies, and Thermo Fisher Scientific. Arnd holds a PhD in Molecular Virology and a degree in Biochemistry from the University of Regensburg.

Christian Gruber brings over a decade of life sciences experience, combining scientific expertise with project management and skills. At Biomay, he leads a team executing complex client programs from onboarding through delivery. He oversees developmental, clinical, and market supply programs, ensuring seamless customer relations. Before joining Biomay in 2020, Christian held postdoctoral positions in academia. He holds a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Graz.

Gottfried Stegfellner works at Biomay since 2007 in several positions in bioprocessing, biomanufacturing and process development. Since 2012 and until now, Gottfried has been Biomay's Head of Manufacturing / Upstream. In this position, he is responsible for molecular biology, cell banking, GMP upstream manufacturing, as well as upstream process development.
Before joining Biomay, he was in a scientific position at the Medical University of Vienna. Gottfried has a degree in biotechnology from the University of Life Sciences and Natural Resources.

Eli Babaev is Head of Biomay's Quality Assurance department since 2022. In this position, Eli's responsibility comprises the company's QA-related topics, such as quality systems, projects and operations, client audits and authority inspections. Eli has been with Biomay since 2016. Prior to his current position, he was in the function of Deputy-Head of Quality Assurance and before that, he held a scientific position in Biomay's product development department. Eli holds a Master's degree in Molecular Biotechnology from the University of Applied Science FH Campus, Vienna.

Yvonne Augustin is Head of Manufacturing Downstream at Biomay, responsible for GMP-compliant downstream processing and aseptic filling of numerous therapeutic modalities, including recombinant proteins, circular and linear DNA, messenger RNA, and lipid nano­particles. Since joining the company in 2014, she has held several manage­ment positions in Manufacturing, Quality in Operations, and Quality Assurance. Yvonne received a Master's degree in Molecular Biotechnology from the University of Applied Sciences in Vienna.

Ernst Böhm has led Biomay’s QC activities since 2018, including product release testing, in-process control, and assay development. His R&D career began at Boehringer Ingelheim RCV, focusing on process and analytical development for microbial and mammalian projects. From 2002 to 2018, he held management and scientific roles at Shire (formerly Baxter BioScience and Baxalta), in R&D and analytical development of recombinant proteins and gene therapies. Ernst holds a PhD from the University of Life Sciences and Natural Resources, Vienna.

Linda Gombos leads Biomay’s Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) department, overseeing process, analytical assay, and technology development, molecular biology, and tech transfer to GMP manufacturing. She joined Biomay in 2018. Previously, Linda workedопи in project management at a biotech start-up and held postdoctoral positions at Boehringer Ingelheim (Process Science Downstream) and the University of Heidelberg (molecular biology). She holds a PhD in Biochemistry from Eötvös Loránd University of Budapest.

Isabella Selmanovic is Biomay's Executive Assistant since 2021. In this position, she supports the company's board and management team in administrational matters. She is further responsible for Biomay's office organization, investor relations, human resources and many other topics. Isabella has a 25 years long career as Executive Assistant, amongst others at the PSA Group/Opel and General Motors.
