Synthego and Biomay Collaborate to Accelerate Access to mRNA manufacturing and CRISPR Solutions
Press release Redwood City, CA, and Vienna, Austria – October 1st, 2026 Biomay, a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) specializing in mRNA manufacturing, lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulation, aseptic fill-finish, plasmid DNA, and recombinant proteins, and Synthego, a leading provider of CRISPR solutions, today announced a non-exclusive collaboration to market, promote, and resell Biomay products and services to Synthego customers and end users in North America.
The collaboration is designed to help customers accelerate their CRISPR programs by providing streamlined access to gRNA manufacturing, mRNA manufacturing, LNP formulation, aseptic fill-finish, critical gene-editing components and cGMP manufacturing capabilities. It brings together Biomay’s expertise in the development and manufacturing of Cas9 nuclease, mRNA, and related products with Synthego’s expertise in CRISPR gene-editing solutions, including the design and manufacturing of single-guide RNA (sgRNA).
Key elements of the collaboration include:
- Distribution of Biomay off-the-shelf products, including Cas9 recombinant nuclease and Cas9-encoding mRNA (available for research-use-only / RUO and cGMP applications)
- Integrated cGMP offerings for CRISPR workflows, combining Biomay’s mRNA manufacturing, LNP formulation, aseptic fill-finish and Cas9 manufacturing capabilities with Synthego’s sgRNA expertise
- Custom cGMP mRNA manufacturing services, including LNP formulation and aseptic fill-finish, supporting gene-editing and other advanced therapeutic applications
